Biography

Jessica J. Lee is a bestselling British-Canadian-Taiwanese author, environmental historian, and winner of the Hilary Weston Writers’ Trust Prize for Nonfiction, the Boardman Tasker Award for Mountain Literature, a Banff Mountain Book Award, the Taiwan Open Book Award, and the RBC Taylor Prize Emerging Writer Award. Her books include Dispersals, Two Trees Make a Forest, Turning, and the children’s book A Garden Called Home. She is co-author of this too is a glistening, and co-editor of the collections Dog Hearted and Tendrils. Her other works include publications in Granta, Orion, and The Guardian, among others, radio documentaries for BBC Radio 4 and the World Service, and an art installation in London’s Senate House Library.

Jessica has a PhD in Environmental History and Aesthetics. She is the founding editor of The Willowherb Review and teaches creative writing at the University of King’s College. She lives in Berlin.
