Editing

Aside from my writing, I work as a freelance editor, proofreader, and writing tutor (academic writing, creative non-fiction, nature writing, and creative writing for academics looking to branch out). I’ve edited for large publishing houses, authors, academics, and businesses. I’m especially experienced with English-language texts by non-native speakers. As a writing tutor, I’ve run workshops at universities, research institutes, and creative writing schools in Germany, the UK, and Canada, and am a panel tutor in Creative Writing at the University of Cambridge.

I offer:

• developmental editing (book manuscripts)

• copy editing (all types of texts, such as PhD theses, articles, books)

• manuscript assessments (especially for memoirs and non-fiction, especially nature-focussed)

• sensitivity or authenticity reads (for nature texts especially)

• one-to-one writing coaching (especially for creative non-fiction)
